Why do I need a capnography device?

When performing sedation dentistry or oral surgery, ensuring patient safety through adequate ventilation monitoring with a capnograph is essential. Both American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) require the use of capnography for patients under sedation. In addition, the American Dental Association (ADA) has just revised its guidelines in November 2016 to recommend the use of capnography on all sedated patients.

How does the PC-900B compare to other similar capnography devices?

How long does it take to receive the device after purchase?

3-5 business days.

What is your warranty and what is the process to fix a problematic device?

One year warranty. You can send the device back and we will repair or replace(with a similar condition unit) at no extra cost if the device is under warranty. We may charge you a repair fee for the parts and labor if the device has passed the warranty. Please send an email to info@cmihealth.com and our customer service team to initiate the return process.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Please inspect the item immediately after you receive it. Returns and exchanges must be authorized in advance. Returns are accepted within 30 days from the original purchase date. Customers MUST email us the return or exchange request via info@cmihealth.com.

Customer service will assess the situation and issue a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. The buyer is responsible for all of the return costs. A 15% restocking fee may be applied if the return item(s) is not in its original condition. If a refund is issued, please allow 2-3 weeks for your account to be credited, and 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.

How to perform capnography during Inhalation Sedation?

There are two ways to connect the capnography sample line to the nasal hood. One is to modify the reusable nasal hood with an adapter, see instructions here.

Another way is to use nasal hoods with CO2, such as Accutron ClearView™ or Flexicare® nasal hoods.​

Does it have alarm? Can it be set to different levels?

Yes. Alarm limits and volume are adjustable via device menu.

Is the cannula and tubing proprietary, or can other accessories be utilized with the device?

Both cannula and sample line are standard. A CO2 compatible nasal hood is required for Nitrous Sedation.

Is the water filter proprietary? Can I use tubing with built-in moist trap?

Yes, water filter is proprietary. The PC-900B is only compatible with CMI T3 or T4 water filter. Does not need to use tubing with moist trap.

Does the water filter need to be changed for each patient? Why, or why not?

T4 filter is disposable and needs change for each patient. T3 is reusable and normally needs change every month.

How long is the work time of the water filters?

T4 - 10 hour continuous monitoring; T3 - 5 hour continuous monitoring and 7-8 hour to refresh by air dry.

How long does the device hold a charge?
How is it charged?

Full charge holds 10 hour working time. 5-6 hour recharge time with the adapter charger.

Does the device come with a display stand, and or, a pole mount?

Yes, the package comes with a display stand. Pole mount can be purchased in addition from our store.
